People such as Salomon de Caus constructed beautiful
palace gardens, with automata, parterres, fountains,
"mountains", statuary, etc. These gardens constituted
a part of the scial ideology, for example, combining
and supporting dances, visually proving an example of
the hierarchical social order expected socially. The
enormous expenditures to create such gardens reached
a point that these gardens (the ideology) became a
laughing stock. The monarchy had the mentality of the
bourgeoisie that it attacked!
